We arrived at 8:35 in the morning in Ginatilan, Cebu the hometown of Catholic martyr and the second Filipino saint, St. Pedro Calungsod. 

We headed down to the town's market to have breakfast and buy food for lunch and some provisions for dinner. 

We were going to summit Mt. Hambubuyog and our first destination was Inambakan falls. 

Inambakan falls will be reached by riding a habal-habal for 30 pesos from the town proper. Do not entertain habal-habal drivers who will go beyond the price. Some of the groups I knew, include Inambakan falls for their "Chasing Waterfalls" adventure. From Inambakan falls as starting point going to Da-o falls, Hidden falls and Aguinid falls in Samboan and ending at Tumalog falls in Oslob - or the other way around. 

A cemented stairs going down lead our way to Inambakan falls, we turned right and we saw the glimpse of mighty Inambakan falls. 

There were cottages for rent at 200 pesos and renting a cottage is an option unless you are going to stay longer in the falls. After paying 10 pesos entrance fee, we enjoyed the chilly water of the falls. 

We include Inambakan falls in our course since this is the usual path going to Mt. Hambubuyog. Yes, later in the blog guys. 

The ladies were enjoying the water and the customary chika-chika was their way to overcome the shivery water pool. 

After almost an hour of enjoying the falls, we headed to our main destination - conquering Mt. Hambubuyog.

Canyoneering/Canyoning Travel

"Dito tayo guys". Yes, we arrived at Kuya Ronald's house after almost 3 hours of bus ride from South Bus Terminal. They were so accommodating and in fact there were other groups in line -  and they were from Manila. Kuya Ricardo (Kuya Ronald's older brother), assisted us in preparing our vest, helmets and shoes and he became our guide - an awesome guide I must say. Kuya Ronald catered the other group. 

We headed directly to Kanlaob River, Alegria via habal-habal where the first jump was located. The first jump was just a short walk from the habal-habal jump-off. 

Then we faced our first challenged, to jump with a 17-20 ft high waterfalls. We were hesitant to jump at first but we have no choice but to jump because there was no other way unlike the other jumping points where you can bypassed them by crawling to the edge and swim.

It was kind'a high at standpoint of the jumper but just take a courage to jump and the next jump is going to be easy. 

We were lucky to have Kuya Richard as our guide. He was very accommodating and even helped the other group to navigate the canyons. And top of that he was our official photographer. :D

It is advisable to have a two canyoneering guide to ensure the safety of everyone. The desirable ratio is 1 guide to 5 persons. 

We ready ourselves for more adrenaline pumping adventure as we navigate the canyons. 

Our canyoneering experience was an opportunity to explore nature in new level. We are surrounded by lush rain forest with spectacular rock formations, clear natural swimming pools and overall canvass carved out by nature. 

Moreover, our canyoneering experience catered us the trill of activities as how it was defined by Wiki.

After almost 3 hours we reached the last jumping  point. It was totally packed with the other group of adventurer waiting in jumping line. They were hesitant to jump because of the height - this was the one of the major jumping point. But actually this can be bypassed by scaling down the rock. 

And we reached the 3rd level of Kawasan point in 4 hours. It was a superb experience and truly the best part of our weekend.
